For our last-minute trip to the 2022 College World Series, we had to spend Saturday night about an hour away in Lincoln, Nebraska. For the next few nights of our trip, we were able to find a charming 2-story row house through VRBO, within a neighborhood in Omaha, a short 5 minute drive away from the Charles Schwab Field. Staying right near the ballpark is probably the most convenient way to experience the College World Series; just get to the hotel, park, and never worry about your car again. The area around Charles Schwab Field is festival-like, with fans of all 8 teams represented…so why leave?
However, if you do decide to stay further afield, driving in and out of the area around the ballpark is relatively easy, although there will be streets closed down for pedestrian safety. Parking is available in a variety of lots, as well as at meters on the streets (pay through an app)…although you may need to drive around a few blocks to find a spot.

Hilton Omaha
There’s about a half dozen hotels within a few blocks of Charles Schwab Field. Among the best hotels for the College World Series is the Hilton Omaha, just a block from the stadium. Inside, you’ll find a nice hotel bar and coffee shop, as well as health club, spa, and indoor swimming pool and hot tub.

Holiday Inn Downtown Omaha
The Holiday Inn Downtown Omaha is a great hotel for families with children traveling to the College World Series. Located a few blocks from the stadium, this hotel has an indoor water park on site! There are water slides, a huge hot tub, leisure pool, and splash pad. There is also a restaurant/bar in the hotel, and plenty of other food and drink options within easy walking distance.
Cambria
Perhaps the most affordable of the hotels that are walkable to the CWS, the Cambria is located just a couple blocks west of Charles Schwab Field. Clean, comfortable, and modern, the price here was a fraction of the cost at others in within the shadows of the CWS…but still seasonably higher than normal. Amenities include a gym, indoor heated pool, hotel bar and restaurant, and office center.
Affordable Hotel Options for College World Series
Holiday Inn
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Central Omaha is located about 5 miles west of downtown near Interstates 680 and 80. The hotel, completely renovated in 2022, offers a clean, affordable option just a short drive away from Charles Schwab Field. Casinos near College World Series
Ameristar Casino
Another of the best hotels for the College World Series is the Ameristar Casino, across the river in Council Bluffs Iowa – just a few minutes from Charles Schwab Field. It is the largest riverboat casino in Iowa, with plenty of table games, slots, and sports betting available. The gaming floor should have just about everything you’re looking for; additionally, there are multiple restaurants and cocktail lounges on site, too.
Harrah’s
